Ariannys Rondon is 17 years old and originally from Venezuela. With her first child in her arms and another on the way, she decided to migrate to Ecuador due to the difficult economic situation in her country. Upon arrival, she faced a harsh and challenging reality for migrants, but her determination to start a new life drove her to persevere.
Currently, Ariannys works as a street vendor selling water and energy drinks, an activity that allows her to survive and meet her needs. Most days, she receives support from migrant neighbors who, like her, share the hope of one day returning to their homeland. Occasionally, she can leave her child in their care while she works. However, in her own words, although she feels a strong sisterhood with these people, she recognizes that nothing can replace the love and support of her family, which is divided between Venezuela, Peru, and Ecuador due to financial and migration issues.
In her search for support, Ariannys reached out to us through the internet. Her pregnancy was progressing and began to make it even harder for her to work regularly. From the moment we learned of her situation, we committed to helping her. We have provided support to cover emergent needs, such as medical care, to ensure she can properly manage her pregnancy. We have also been concerned about her nutritional situation, as her low weight and anemia during pregnancy posed a significant risk.
As the birth of her baby, a girl, draws near, we decided to launch a donation campaign to collect necessary supplies and items for both her and her daughter. The response to this call has been overwhelmingly positive and fills us with gratitude. The solidarity from the community has been remarkable, and we are deeply grateful for the support we have received.
Through this testimony, we want to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who has donated and shown love and empathy toward the cases we present. Thanks to each one of you, Ariannys and many others facing similar situations, have the opportunity to improve their quality of life and continue fighting for a better future.
