María Celina Tito is 55 years old and lives in San Pablo with her husband, a bricklayer, and her 32-year-old son, who has a 98% intellectual disability. Additionally, she cares for her 95-year-old mother, which fills their home with love and challenges.
María’s daily life is full of responsibilities. Her son needs to take medication, and she also has to manage her own health due to kidney problems. However, she finds joy in her work. She embroiders shirts and, above all, takes care of her s and the animals she raises, such as chickens, guinea pigs, and pigs. These small efforts not only help support her family but also provide her with personal satisfaction.
She learned about the Pan de Vida Foundation thanks to a community leader, and from that moment on, her life took a positive turn. On August 30, 2024, her was implemented, a change that has brought hope and resources to her home. The opportunity to grow her own food has been a great help for her family, and she has learned to appreciate the land and the effort it takes to care of it.
María attends the “El Nuevo Pacto Israelita” Church, where she has found a place of faith and community that supports her in her most difficult moments. Her participation in the implementation of Casco Valenzuela and in the seedling, workshop has been an enriching experience, strengthening not only her skills but also her ties with her neighbors.
She feels that the Pan de Vida Foundation has been a light on her path, providing her with the necessary tools to face daily challenges with more optimism and faith. As Psalm 37:25 says: “I have been young and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread.” María feels grateful and hopeful for the future, knowing that she is not alone in her struggle.
