ZOILA MERCEDES LAGLA TIBAN

Zoila, 41 years old, has three children, an eldest son and two younger daughters. Luis (19 years old) has been diagnosed with cerebral palsy. Daniela (17 years old) and Aracely (16 years old) both attend school during the day while their mother stays home to care for Luis. Living in Quito as a single mother has been a difficult situation for Zoila and her family, especially providing the material needs for her children while also caring for her son, who requires extra attention due to his disability.

As of right now, this family’s only income is a bonus received from the government for Luis’ condition. Caring for a family member with a disability takes a lot of patience and commitment, and this makes it difficult for Ziola to find a job that allows her the time to care for her son. Daniela and Aracely are fully committed to their schooling. While the bonus is certainly helpful, a family of four needs to be supported in more ways than this.

Pan de Vida hopes to support Zoila and her family through several God-centered programs. With Daniela and Aracely being in school, school kits would be beneficial as they prepare for the future by supporting them in their education. Pan de Vida’s food assistance program would help this family fight hunger while also hearing about the hope that all can have in Jesus. ‘Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, to build him up,’ (Romans 15:2). Please consider helping the Lagla family receive their basic needs and understand the sacrificial love of Jesus.
