TESTIMONY
Miguel Ángel Vélez Vélez, 71 years old, is a devoted father who, despite his age and many hardships, continues to fight with love and courage for his family. He lives in Quito with his two adult daughters with disabilities. Marcela (30) has an intellectual disability, and Zara (21) has lost much of her vision. Since the passing of his wife, Mr. Vélez has been the sole caregiver and provider for his family.
Recently, a fire completely destroyed their home. However, with the help of their church, they were able to rebuild part of the house—a clear sign that God continues to be present through those willing to serve. Despite financial challenges, Miguel remains steadfast, doing everything possible to support his daughters, even though the family’s only income comes from Marcela’s disability allowance.
Mr. Vélez suffers from severe episodes of vertigo and urgently needs a CT scan that he cannot afford. In this critical time, Pan de Vida has been walking alongside the family, providing food kits, medical consultations, and prayer, seeking to be part of God’s provision in their lives.
Miguel’s commitment to his daughters, Zara’s perseverance in pursuing her dream of becoming a veterinarian, and the constant love within this family remind us that even in the midst of pain, God does not abandon us. He makes Himself present through those who choose to extend their hands.
