JESSICA STEFANIA MORA MARIDUEÑA

Jessica, 18years old, and her partner Anderson face a series of challenges as they care for their baby and work towards improving their future. Anderson works in recycling, while Jessica sells sweets on public transport, despite his opposition due to the difficulties of moving with their baby. She sees it as a way to support her husband and contribute to household expenses.

The mutual support between Jessica and Anderson is evident, as they both have faced difficult parenting situations. Jessica, in particular, grew up with her father abandoning her and her mother going to prison. Despite these circumstances, they have chosen to continue their education through an accelerated high school program, viewing education as key to achieving their goals and improving job opportunities. They leave home every night at 6:00 p.m. to attend school until 10:00 p.m., taking turns caring for their baby since there are no nighttime childcare options.

Recently, a foundation learned of their situation and has extended support to this young family, providing medical attention for the baby to ensure she receives necessary care. They have also addressed their nutritional needs, improving Jessica’s nutrition to support proper breastfeeding. Necessary study supplies are also being provided, helping the couple progress in their academic pursuits.

Jessica and Anderson’s story is an inspiring testament to perseverance and love amidst adversity. They are grateful for the continued collaboration with this family and invite others to reflect on the importance of supporting families like theirs. As Ephesians 4:32 says, “Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.” Your help can make a significant difference, offering a brighter future to those in need.
