Luz María Arellano

Luz María Arellano is a 56-year-old indigenous woman from the community of Pigulca, where she lives with her two children, her husband and her mother-in-law, whom they care for with dedication. Since learning about the Foundation through the Community Development project, she has demonstrated an unconditional commitment to the welfare of her community. Although she does not yet attend a church, she actively participates in devotionals and listens to the word of the Lord; the Foundation donated her a Bible so that she can be enriched spiritually.

In August 2023, Luz received a basic life farm, a tool that has transformed her home and family life. Since then, she and her husband have worked hard to maintain and expand the life farm, dedicating time and effort to ensure the success of their crops. Her commitment transcends her family, as she has also become involved in seedling development, intending to implement more life farms in other communities and extend the benefits of the program.

Her enthusiasm and dedication make her a true role model, inspiring others to join in building a better future. Thanks to the technical assistance she has received, and the lessons learned in the workshops, Luz has been able to maintain her life farm more effectively, which reflects her commitment to her family and the development of her community. She is a living testimony of how teamwork and love for the community can have a significant impact on people’s lives.

“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.” Colossians 3:23-24
