Daniela Carvajal arrived in Ecuador from Venezuela with the hope of building a better future for her two daughters. As a single mother, she took on the responsibility of providing for her family on her own, working multiple jobs to generate income while caring for her girls. Over time, the challenges grew when her mother was also forced to leave Venezuela due to the ongoing crisis and the difficulty of accessing the medical care and medications she needed.
Between work, household expenses, and caring for her family, many important needs had to be set aside. Access to medical care for Daniela, her daughters, and her mother was limited, and opportunities for the girls to participate in educational and recreational activities outside of school were scarce.
In the midst of this uncertainty, God opened a door. Through Pan de Vida, Daniela found a community willing to walk alongside her family. She and her daughters have received medical care, food assistance, clothing, and spiritual support. Her girls have participated in VBS camps, English classes, and activities where they have learned about God’s love. They have also received school supplies, backpacks, children’s Bibles, toys, and opportunities to enjoy meaningful experiences that have enriched their childhood.
Daniela’s mother has also benefited from this support through our urban gardening program, where she has found an opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute from home.
Despite the challenges she faces, Daniela continues to be someone who radiates joy. She always greets others with a smile and carries a positive attitude that reflects her trust in God. That same joy can be seen in her daughters, two sweet and caring girls who now have greater opportunities to learn, grow, and thrive.
Thanks to God’s provision and the support of those who make this mission possible, families like Daniela’s are finding encouragement, new opportunities, and hope for a brighter future.
