Several years ago, Oswaldo Brito was forced to leave behind the life he had built in Venezuela. He once had his own business, had stability, and many dreams for his family. But the economic and political crisis in his country led him to migrate to Ecuador in search of new opportunities for his children.
Over time, the family’s situation only became more difficult. The children’s mother traveled to Peru for work, and eventually the entire family relocated there hoping to find stability. Instead, they faced a situation of serious vulnerability related to deceptive labor conditions, forcing them to return to Ecuador and begin again from nothing.
Not long after, Oswaldo experienced one of the hardest moments of his life when the children’s mother left the home, taking the oldest son with her. Since then, he has been raising and caring for his three younger children on his own, carrying the full responsibility of providing for and protecting them.
Yet despite everything he has endured, Oswaldo’s love for his children still stands out more than anything. His relationship with them reflects patience, tenderness, and a deep commitment to giving them a dignified life filled with opportunities. Although the family still faces many challenges, he continues to work each day with resilience and hope.
Since February of this year, Oswaldo and his children have been part of Pan de Vida after someone connected him with the foundation. During this time, the family has received support through food assistance, medical care for the children, and programs such as VBS, where the children have been able to learn, play, and experience encouragement in a Christ-centered community.
Oswaldo’s story reminds us that even in the midst of loss, migration, and uncertainty, God continues to sustain families. Through every difficulty, he continues moving forward with a steadfast faith in Christ and the desire to build a brighter future for his children, trusting that God will be with them every step of the way.
