A couple of years ago, a team from Pan de Vida had the privilege of getting to know the story of a truly strong woman: Leydis Mosquera. From the very first moment, we saw how tirelessly she works for her family, especially for her two children. She always welcomes us with a smile and a warm hug, but what is behind that smile?
Years ago, Leydis was diagnosed with leukemia. Her doctor told her that there was no way out of the disease in her specific case. Desperate and resigned to die, Leydis prepared for the worst. However, one night, God called her through a dream. From that moment on, she started going to church and eventually at her medical checkups, she discovered that the cancer was gone. The doctors didn’t know how it happened, but Leydis knew it was God working in her.
Inspired by this miracle, Leydis decided to look to Ecuador and begin her journey with Pan de Vida. With the support of seed capital, she and her husband Bill, who is an engineer, set up an appliance repair shop.Using Leydis’ background in economics, she takes charge of the financial side of the business, while Bill takes care of the financial side of the business, while Bill takes care of the financial side of the business. Together, they form an exceptional team.
Their business not only offers repairs and maintenance of washing machines and other household appliances, but also electrical services and installation of security cameras. Now, their venture has been formalized and they have an invoice and electronic signature. They have also been able to establish a solid contract with a hospital, which they hope will open more doors.
One of Leydis’ most significant achievements has been to hire a Venezuelan collaborator, thus fulfilling their dream of employing refugees. One of Leydis’ most significant achievements has been to hire a Venezuelan collaborator, thus fulfilling their dream of employing refugees. In the future, they dream of offering car painting services and continuing to expand their business, always with the vision of providing employment to more people. Throughout the process, they have full trust in God and know that He will take care of them.
Recently, we had the opportunity to visit Leydis and witness firsthand the fruits of her constant attendance at trainings and mentoring.
She proudly showed us a SWOT analysis that one of the foundation’s mentors had helped her do. She also has certificates of operation, uniforms for her team, and today, she is working on the design of her logo to improve the presentation of her business, which she has been learning to do during the trainings that the foundation provides.
Leydis Mosquera is a living inspiration. Her story of faith, self-improvement and determination reminds us that, with the right support and unwavering faith, it is possible to transform lives and build a better future. Her smile and warm embrace are not only symbols of gratitude, but also of hope and renewal.
